FREEPORT — The Greater Portland Transit District is holding public meetings to gather route and schedule feedback about its METRO Breez bus service.

The commuter service, which runs from Portland to Freeport with stops in Falmouth and Yarmouth, launched in June after two years of planning. The next meetings are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 13, at Falmouth Memorial Library and Oct. 17 at Freeport Town Hall.

According to Denise Beck, METRO director of marketing, the Breez has 2,000-2,100 riders a month, which is on target. The number of riders has been increasing since July, she said, when around 1,300 riders were riding the bus.

Beck said a survey will also be available on the METRO website.
