SOUTH PORTLAND — A complaint has been filed with the Maine Human Rights Commission against the city and the City Council, Mayor Tom Blake said Wednesday.

Blake said the city was notified after the complaint was filed June 13, but would not say who it came from “to protect the privacy of the filer.”

MHRC Executive Director Amy Sneirson on Wednesday would neither confirm nor deny the complaint exists because the agency “is required to maintain as confidential any complaint filed with us until the case is either dismissed or is listed for hearing on a published agenda.”
