NORTH YARMOUTH — Maureen E. Wentworth, 83, of North Yarmouth, died Feb. 8 at home, surrounded by loved ones.

Born in Portland, she was a daughter of Earl L. and Mavis Opal Fickett Merrill. She attended Portland schools and graduated from Deering High School.

At all times, Wentworth put her family first. She was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, sewing, cooking and quilting. She also worked at the Yarmouth Hannaford Bros. store and Anderson Farm. She was a longtime 4-H leader.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Charles G. Wentworth Jr. and her son, Jeffrey Wentworth.

Wentworth is survived by her children, Denise Swinford, of North Yarmouth, Penny Parker, of New Gloucester, Jean Russell, of North Yarmouth and Kerry Wentworth, of Gray; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A spring graveside service will be held in Smith Cemetery, Windham.
