SCARBOROUGH — Matthew J. Brady, 32, of Crossing Drive, died April 8 at his residence.

He was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on June 7, 1982, the son of Richard L. Brady Jr. and Carrie E. (Burdwood) Brady. Matthew attended Scarborough schools and graduated from Scarborough High School in 2000.

He went on to work as a mason tender at construction sites throughout the area.

Brady was known as a kind-hearted and compassionate man. Above all else, he was devoted to his daughter, Olivia. They enjoyed swimming, skateboarding and simply spending time together. Brady was very close to his sister, Kristen, and a shared a caring relationship with his former wife, Courtney.

In his free time, Brady pursued a passion for motorcycles, particularly his father’s 1957 panhead Harley Davidson, which he fondly considered to be his own.

He is survived by his daughter, Olivia R. Brady, of Lebanon; his parents, Richard and Carrie Brady, of Scarborough; his sister, Kristen L. Brady, and partner Michael Himes, of Biddeford; his former wife, Courtney Smith, of Lebanon; and a special, newborn nephew, Brady Himes, of Biddeford.

A memorial service was held April 11 at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel. Burial will take place at Scarborough Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
