YARMOUTH — Mary Louise Nunziato, 80, of Yarmouth, died April 9, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Brighton, Mass., on April 19, 1933, the only daughter of John E. Nunziato Jr. and Cecile Blackburn Nunziato. The family moved to Portland in the 1940s. She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Deering High School in 1951. She worked as a hairdresser in her father’s beauty shop on High Street. She married Stanley Fink in 1959, and had three daughters to whom she devoted her entire life. When the girls got older, she worked in retail, retiring from L.L. Bean in 1996. She enjoyed being around people, so retirement didn’t last long. She worked at Goodwill Industries in Falmouth until January, 2014.

She had an infectious laugh. She could find humor in anything and everything, and she made the best of every situation. She taught her daughters and her granddaughter to be independent women, and they emulated her strength and made her proud. She was an avid Red Sox fan and watched every game.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie Nunziato-Marsters and husband, Richard, of Saco, Lori Nunziato, of Yarmouth, and Patti Chase and husband, Chuck, of Gorham; granddaughter Jenna, of Portland; and grandson, Anthony, of Gorham.

Visiting hours and a brief service were held April 13, at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A private burial was held at Evergreen Cemetery.
