TOPSHAM — Marvin Arnold Clifford, 72, died June 1 at his home.

He was born in Augusta on May 20, 1937, the son of Guy and Beatrice (Tunks) Clifford.

In 1956, he graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and two years later graduated from Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute.

On Sept. 27, 1958, he married Patricia O’Reilly.

For several years, he served in the Army National Guard and in the Navy Reserves.

His career was spent at Bath Iron Works, working in the tin shop, the drawing room and lastly as a draftsman supervisor before retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed watching the Red Sox and Patriots, and hunting in his earlier years.

He is survived by his wife Patricia of Topsham; four children, Scott Clifford of Topsham, Sheryl Clifford of New Nutley, N.J., Laurie Toober of Topsham and Linda Clifford of Boston; a brother, Carroll Clifford of Vacaville, Calif., and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was held last week.

Arrangements are by Stetson’s Funeral Home, 12 Federal St., Brunswick.
