PORTLAND — Traffic on the Martin’s Point Bridge will be restricted to one, alternating lane of travel on Thursday from 5:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The restriction will take place while CPM Constructors, which is building a new bridge, places large sections of the new bridge deck near the Falmouth side, according to Carol Morris, a Maine Department of Transportation spokeswoman.
The original bridge, which connects Veranda Street and U.S. Route 1, was built in 1943. The new bridge is expected to be open in the first quarter of 2014.
