BATH — Mark J. Sylvester, 52, died Nov. 1 after a short illness with family by his side.
On Feb. 13, 1957, he was born in Rockland, the son of Kenneth and Margaret Sylvester.
He spent his childhood in Woolwich and graduated from Morse High School in 1976.
On Oct. 27, 1984, he married Victoria R. Morse and moved to West Bath to raise their family. They just recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
For 30 years he worked at Bath Iron Works.
He loved music and began collecting albums at age 12.
An avid sports fan, he especially enjoyed watching the Celtics play.
He was a member and past exalted ruler of the Bath Lodge of Elks.
Survivors include his loving wife Victoria; his parents, Kenneth and Margaret Sylvester of Bath; a son, Sean and his wife Wendy (Curtis) Sylvester of Wiscasset; many cousins; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Elks National Foundation, C/O Bath Elks, P.O. Box 334, Bath, ME 04530.
Memorial services were held earlier this week.
Arrangements are by David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath.
