PORTLAND — Marjorie L. Chick, 86, of Portland died Dec. 12, in Clark Terrace at The Park Danforth. She was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Portland, the daughter of Harvey and Clara (Sprague) Clark.

Chick grew up in South Portland and graduated from South Portland High School in 1947. She attended business school and began her career first at the former local osteopathic hospital as an executive administrative secretary, then at a credit union. She also worked with her husband of 45 years, Raymond L Chick Sr., as an accountant at P. S. Chick & Son.

The Chicks were active with the Gideons International Association in Maine and Florida, sharing scriptures throughout the world. Chick served in several leadership positions in the Gideons Wotates in America. They traveled the states  in their RV, and also enjoyed cruising the Caribbean, South America and Europe.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Clark Terrace at The Park Danforth and Hospice of Southern Maine.

Chick was predeceased by her husband and her daughters, Nancy Collard and Paula Berry.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Kimball; two stepdaughters, Paula Wehmeyer and Valerie Wilson; a stepson, Raymond L. Chick Jr.; a granddaughter Courtney Meltzer; a great-grandson, Tucker; and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

At Chick’s request there will no funeral services.
