BATH — Marjorie L. Bassler, 83, died Feb. 4 at Hill House Assisted Living.

On Aug. 13, 1927, she was born in Bath, a daughter of James and Jennie Colby Knight.

After she graduated from Morse High school in 1947 she worked at the Hyde Windlass Company for 20 years as a timekeeper and clerk.

On Aug. 18, 1962, she married Charles Bassler in Bath. They were married for 46 years until his death on April 20, 2008.

In her younger years she was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and enjoyed singing in the choir at the United Methodist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles, and three brothers, Edwin, Sidney, and James Knight.

Surviving are a step-daughter, Charlinda Gray of North Bath; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath.
