YARMOUTH — Marjorie G. Dunbar, 86, of Yarmouth, died in Auburn, Oct. 8, from a brief illness.

She was born in Manchester, N.H., on Dec. 26, 1926, to William W. and Catherine Grossman. She graduated from Manchester High School Central and Kathleen Dell Secretarial School in Brookline, Mass. She worked as a secretary at New Hampshire Fire Insurance Company.

She married Richard M. Dunbar in 1950, and moved to Bedford, N.H. She and her husband moved to Cumberland Center in 1976 when he was transferred by his company. In 1986 he retired and they moved to Yarmouth.

Dunbar enjoyed quilting and being a part of Calico Quilt Group. She was always reading books, doing puzzles, lunching with friends and especially loved having her grandchildren around her. She served on the Royal Manner Estate Board of Directors.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1994, after 43 years of marriage; her brother, Richard P. Grossman and brother-in-law, Henry A. Strater.

She is survived by a son, Alan M. Dunbar; daughter Tracy Anne Poole, and husband, Edward, of Yarmouth; sister Lillian M. Strater; sister-in-law M. Noel Grossman; granddaughter Crystal A. Hincks, and husband, Matt, of Topsham; grandsons Brandon J. Wyman, and wife, Carrie, Zachary T. Poole, and wife, Jaclyn and Alec R. Poole, of Yarmouth; great-granddaughter Allie A. Wyman; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life was held Oct. 12.
