SCARBOROUGH—Marjorie Elise Irlandy, 94, died Nov. 23 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough. Marjorie was born in New York, Aug. 16, 1918, daughter of Beatrice (Schoenfeld) and Paul Loewenberg.

Her family later moved to West Hartford, Conn. After studies at New York University, she completed her bachelor’s in education at New Britain Teachers College. On Oct. 19, 1941, she married Milton Irlandy, and they made their home in West Hartford. She moved to Maine in April 2010. She loved opera and classical music and was an avid bridge player. She was also accomplished in handcrafts, especially needlecraft and knitting. She was known for her delicious desserts.

Irlandy is survived by her three children Barbara Loewenberg-Irlandy and husband, Jon Hall, of Portland, Marcia Sinder and husband, Alan, of Spring Hill, Fla., and Martin Irlandy and wife, Angela, of Southington, Conn; four grandchildren Josh Kekacs, Hannah Estes, Deborah Saxton and Jennifer Sinder; eight great-grandchildren; and former son-in-law and beloved friend, Joseph Kekacs.

Funeral services were held Dec. 2 at the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary in Hartford, Conn.
