SCARBOROUGH — Marilyn Charlotte Merrill “Pinky” Corthell, 86, died July 31 at Gorham House in Gorham.

Born in Manchester, N.H., Corthell graduated from Nashua High School and the Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing. Her career included stints as a registered nurse and a full-time stay-at-home mother, and she also was a small business owner in Whiting for 20 years.

Some of her volunteer activities included being a dynamic Girl Scouts troop leader, a member of the Panel of American Women in Ohio, and a board member of the Freeport Community Library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kinsman Corthell, of Eastport. She is survived by her two daughters, Kerry and Kim Corthell, of Scarborough; her son and daughter-in-law, Kinsman and Becky Corthell; and her two grandchildren, Delaney J. and Kinsman R. Corthell, of Bow, N.H.

Her remains will be interred beside her beloved husband at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
