TOPSHAM — Marilyn G. “Dolly” Edgecomb, 81, died April 1 at Amenity Manor.

Born in Brunswick on May 13, 1929, a daughter of George and Beatrice Small Brawn, she graduated in the last class of the Coombs School in Bowdoinham.

In September 1948 she married Leroy Edgecomb in Bowdoinham and they had three children together.

A homemaker for most of her life, she also worked at Head Start and as a teachers aide in the Topsham School District.

She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Topsham, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family.

She was predeceased by her husband Leroy in 2002, and by a brother, Albert Brawn, and two sisters, Phyllis Turner and Sheila Brawn.

Surviving are her three children, John Edgecomb and his wife Robin of Bowdoinham, Arthur Edgecomb of Edgecomb, and Karen Edgecomb of Saco; four brothers, George Brawn, Jr., and his wife Janet, James Brawn, Elwood Brawn and his wife Frances, and Guy Brawn and his wife Helen, and three sisters, Patricia Hartman and her husband Robert, Carlyn Tome, and Jocelyn Almy and her husband Robert; five grandchildren, Angela Edgecomb, Alison Edgecomb, Sean Coffey, Martin Edgecomb, and Alexander Edgecomb; and six great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at the Bowdoinham Fire Station in Bowdoinham.
