TOPSHAM — Marilyn A. Labbe, 82, died peacefully on Aug. 15 at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

She was born in Dixfield on Jan. 24, 1932, the daughter of Erwin J. Parlin and Lillian (Fletcher) Parlin. In her teenage years, she moved to Brunswick, where she worked as a nanny.

On July 4, 1952, she married Bertand R. Labbe and settled in Topsham Heights. Married for over 58 years, she loved her family and friends, and enjoyed taking care of her home and gardens. In her spare time, she worked in the dining service at Bowdoin College and helped direct traffic for local paving projects.

Labbe was predeceased by her husband, Bertrand; her mother, Lillian; three brothers, Harland, Lewis and Keith; and her sister, Kathryn.

She is survived by her daughters, Anne Taylor and husband, Christopher, of Topsham, Janice Blick, widow of Malcolm, of Lisbon Falls, Denise Grover and husband, Sean, of Columbia, South Carolina, Laurie Webber and husband, Bryan, of Brunswick; and granddaughter, Rebecca Churney, her husband, Brian and three great-grandchildren, Phoebe, Parker and Breckin, of Brunswick. She also leaves two sisters, Beverly Stevens, of Auburn, and friend, Richard L’Italien, and Patricia Thomas and husband, James, of Mexico; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends, especially Susan Bisson, Christine (Riley) Millar and Russell Labbe.

Her family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Topsham Fire and Rescue and of Mid Coast Hospital for her recent care. A celebration of Labbe’s life will take place in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Coastal Humane Society.
