BRUNSWICK – Marie Georgiana Cote, 82, died at the Hospice House in Auburn on April 23 surrounded by her family.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1929, daughter of Belonie Cote and Marie Ann Levesque Cote.

Although she never had children of her own, her three generations of nieces and nephews were the loves of her life. She was known by all of them as “Auntie Georgie.”

She graduated from St. John’s School and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Cote worked at various jobs before working 27 years at a cotton mill in Augusta and then Jay Corp. in Lisbon Falls until her retirement.

She was predeceased by her parents and three sisters, Adele Wood, Louise Letarte and Jeannette Mann.

Cote is survived by sisters Cecile Litalien and her husband, Roger, of Topsham and Rosalie Vaillancourt of Massachusetts; one brother, Louis P. Cote of Topsham; and three generations of nieces and nephews.

It was her wish that there be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass was celebrated on April 26 at St. John’s Church in Brunswick followed by graveside prayers and burial services at St. John’s Cemetery in Brunswick.
