BRUNSWICK — Margaret Elizabeth “Peggy” Kennedy, 84, died Jan. 23 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Born on March 20, 1925, in New Gloucester, daughter of Eleanor Mott and Wallace Bragdon, she attended local schools and graduated from New Gloucester High School in 1942.

She married Merle D. Kennedy on July 2, 1950.

For 20 years she worked at Parkview Memorial Hospital until she retired in 1990.

An active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brunswick, she served as the treasurer and secretary of its Community Service Center.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor and love.

She was predeceased by her sister, Muriel, and seven brothers, Edwin, Charles, Harrison, Kenneth, Alden, Avery and Sidney.

Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Merle; two children, Richard Kennedy and his wife Lisa and Sandy Rudman and her husband Carl; four grandchildren, Sean Rudman, Kelly Rudman, Jayme Horr, and Dana Kennedy; three great-grandchildren, Demetrios, Annabelle and Cassidy Horr; brother, Wallace Bragdon, Jr. and his wife, Dolly; brother-in-law, Charlie Fortier; sister-in-law Arlene; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brunswick, with a reception to follow.

Memorial donations may be made to the Seventh-day Adventist Community Service Center, c/o Dr. Alice Cunningham, 84B Union St., Brunswick, ME 04011.
