FREEPORT — Margaret B. Soule, 97, died peacefully at her home April 23.
A lifelong resident of Freeport, she was one of nine children born to W. George and Bertha J. (Burgess) Hayward and graduated from Freeport High School.
In 1955 she married Henchman S. Soule, and enjoyed many outdoor adventures together, especially hiking and camping trips in Maine and New Hampshire.
She loved nature, gardening and bird watching.
While she had no children of her own, she enjoyed taking care of her family and children of friends.
She was a devout member of the Christian Science church.
Her husband Henchman predeceased her in 1984.
Surviving are her sister, Mary E. Dyer of Freeport; sister-in-law, Delores Hayward of Vienna, Va.; a special niece, Susan Clifford, her husband Philip, and their children, Andrew and Philip, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express appreciation to Beacon Hospice for their caring and compassion.
Funeral services were held last week.
Arrangement are by Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth.
