PORTLAND — A city resident remains in critical condition at Maine Medical Center after being struck by a car on Forest Avenue on Saturday evening.
Police said Elliot Burton, 74, was trying to cross Forest Avenue at Pitt Street around 6:40 p.m. when he was struck by a 2006 Toyota Camry driven by Falmouth resident Lindsay Lathrop, 26.
Lathrop was uninjured in the accident, which remained under investigation. Police said speed and alcohol did not appear to be factors.
