FALMOUTH — A Portland man faces charges after allegedly exposing himself to women twice at the Blackstrap Hill Preserve.

Andrew T. Young, 29, of Lester Drive, Portland, was charged with two counts of indecent conduct, which is a Class E misdemeanor.

Young received a summons and is free until his arraignment on Dec. 15. However, he is banned from all parks and trails in Falmouth.

Police Lt. John Kilbride said Young was previously arrested by Falmouth Police “a couple of years ago” on unrelated charges for violating conditions of release, but this is the first time police are aware that he’s been charged with indecent conduct.

The incidents occurred on Sept. 15 and Oct. 11, when, according to initial police reports, a man allegedly exposed and touched himself in front of women who were hiking. Both women encountered the man on the Blackstrap Hill Preserve trail system, as opposed to a parking lot or trail head.

Police are not releasing Young’s photo because any other victims who may come forward and view a line up could be prejudiced because they previously saw his picture.

Kilbride said they were able to apprehend Young through a collaborative effort between the police and the public.

Anyone who may have had similar encounters or more information, is asked to contact Falmouth Detective Wayne Geyer at 781-2300.
