PORTLAND — Two Maine Turnpike service plazas will close for renovations for about nine weeks starting Monday, March 21.
The Cumberland plaza, at Mile 58 southbound, and the Gray plaza, at Mile 59 northbound, will close to remove Starbucks and install 24-hour drive-through Burger King restaurants, the Maine Turnpike Authority announced Monday. Both plazas are expected to reopen by Memorial Day.
All services at the plazas, including sanitary facilities and gas pumps, will be closed during the $3 million renovations. Turnpike plazas in West Gardiner and Kennebunk will be open during the project.
