PORTLAND — Native Mainer and University of Southern Maine graduate Brandon Turner and his band, The Haberdashery Ensemble, will bring their blend of jazz, classical, folk, gypsy, French and tango music to southern Maine this weekend.

The band, which Turner started when he moved to Los Angeles to study bass at the University of California, released an album, “Illuminated Road,” to critical acclaim in 2009 and is making its first tour of New England.

Stops on the tour include a 1 p.m. performance at USM in Gorham and a 7:30 p.m. performance at the Frontier Cafe in Brunswick, both on Friday, Sept. 17, and a 7:30 p.m. performance at Starbird Recital Hall in Portland on Saturday, Sept. 18.
