FALMOUTH — The Falmouth Historical Society invites the public to attend Maine Heritage Day on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its Heritage Museum at 60 Woods Road.

Outdoor events will include exhibits and demonstrations of sheep shearing, goat milking, everyday chores, wood splitting, wood carving antique tools, antique milk wagon and a new herb garden.

Inside, spinning, weaving and use of kitchen tools will be demonstrated and a 1795 issue of the “Falmouth Gazette,”  folk art and a men’s and women’s intimate apparel exhibit will be on display.

Refreshments will be served and the society will open its sales room where maps, coverlets and books, including cookbooks and the new book, “Falmouth” will be for sale. The rain date for the event is Sunday, Sept. 13, from 1-4 p.m.
