SOUTH PORTLAND — Mable A. McLellan, 94, died Sept. 17 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

On June 28, 1916, she was born in Sherman Mills, a daughter of Maurice and Margaret Jackman, and graduated from local schools 

She married Alfred R. McLellan and they moved to South Portland in 1943.

For 27 years she worked as an LPN at Mercy Hospital until her retirement in 1978.  

After she retired, she worked part-time at the South Portland Nursing Home.

An avid Red Sox fan, she attended many opening days at Fenway Park with her son.

The family would like to thank the staff at South Portland Nursing Home and Gosnell Memorial Hospice House for their loving care.

She was predeceased by her husband Alfred R. McLellan in 1987, and by a brother, Kirk Jackman.

Surviving are her four children; two sons, Russell and wife Donna of Westbrook, Paul and wife Nancy of South Portland, and two daughters, Linda and husband George Lougee of Newport, Norma and husband Richard O’Brien of South Portland; two brothers, Robert Jackman of Windham, Edward Jackman of South Portland, and a sister, Barbara Perrow of South Portland; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Memorial services were held earlier this week.

Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, 230 Cottage Road, South Portland.
