I am writing in support of the Falmouth Flyer bus.

I am legally blind, and utilize the bus almost daily to get to and from work, run errands and attend events in greater Portland. When my family moved to Falmouth in 2011, access to the METRO service was a key factor in determining where we would live.

Michael Doyle, the individual behind the November ballot question, has repeatedly stated that nobody rides the bus. As someone who rides frequently, this has not been my experience, and it is not what the data illustrates. As others have pointed out, ridership on the No. 7 bus route has increased steadily since its inception in 2005, to over 79,000 rides in 2011. I have met numerous individuals from within and outside Falmouth who depend on the bus for transportation.

I urge Falmouth voters to vote no on Falmouth Question 1 to keep this valuable service intact.
