BATH — Lucille Burke, 84, died in her home on March 4, due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Burke was born Feb. 18, 1931, in Waterville, to Arthur and Eda Hackett. After graduating from Portland High School, she moved to Bath. There she worked at the Pine Tree Society and later retired from the Five County Credit Union. After retiring, her free time was spent with her extended “family” at the Bath Area Senior Citizens Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Lorraine Burke, of Brunswick; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Robert Cummins, of Middletown, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Roberta and Tim Bachelder, of Athol, Massachusetts; four grandchildren, Mark Bruso, Tynan Bruso, Stephanie Cummins and April Cummins; and many nieces and nephews.

Burke was predeceased by her four sisters, two brothers and their spouses: Louise and Everett Perkins; Charlotte and Raymond Dulac; Jeanette and James Morse; Shirley and Reuel Clement; Arthur and Ruth Hackett; and James Hackett.

The family extends special thanks to her nephews, Everett Perkins and Russell Clement, for the love and support of their aunt.

At her request, Burke was cremated and a private celebration of her life will take place. Donations in her memory can be made to the Bath Area Senior Citizens Center.
