BRUNSWICK — Lucile Helen Card, 86, formerly of Bath, died March 28 at Mid Coast Senior Health Center.

She was born in Bryan, Ohio on April 14, 1923, the daughter of Paul Wilbert and Bernice (Wertz) Howard and attended local schools.

In 1943 she graduated from Business College International in Fort Wayne, Ind.

On Feb. 8, 1946, she married George C. Card, and raised their two boys in Bryan, Ohio.

They moved to Bath in 1970 and spent winters in Lake Placid, Fla. for many years. 

A homemaker for most of her life, she was a member of the Extension Homemaker’s Club in Ohio and Maine for over 30 years.

She was also a member of the Eastern Star for 60 years, a member of Bath Senior Citizens since 1981, and a parishioner at the Corliss Street Baptist Church.

She was predeceased by her husband George on Feb. 26, 2004.

Surviving are her two sons, James P. Card and his wife, Mary of Topsham, and Clifford C. Card and his wife Ann Marie of Sebring, Fla.; her brother, Denver Charles Howard of Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and nine step-great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held last week.
