BRUNSWICK — Louise L. Caoette, 91, died March 30 at Horizons Living Center in Brunswick.

She was born in Brunswick on Jan. 10, 1921, a daughter of Louis A. and Annie St. Pierre Labbe. She attended St. Augustine School in Augusta and The Presentation of Mary Boarding School in Qoaticook, Canada.

On June 2, 1951, she married Henry A. Caouette at St. John the Baptist Church in Brunswick.

She worked at Cabot Mill until 1955, St. John’s School for three years as a kindergarten teacher, JJ Morin Roofing for seven years, Sawyer Real Estate, George Homer Real Estate and was a cook for St. John’s Rectory for 10 years. She also worked at Phi Delta Psi fraternity at Bowdoin College for four years and stayed in touch with members until her death.

She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella for 50 years, serving as both local and state Regent. Her hobbies included cooking, knitting and crocheting.

Caouette was predeceased by her husband, Louis; sisters Doris Fortin and her husband, Alphonse Fortin, Anita Labbe, Priscille Brillant and her husband, Alcide Brillant; and stepdaughter Germaine Dugal and her husband, Raymond Dugal.

She is survived by Donald Caouette and his wife, Teressa Caouette; grandson Benjamin Caouette and his wife, Kelly Meagher Caouette; granddaughter Marian Caouette; a brother, Louis Labbe and wife, Avis Labbe; stepdaughter Laurette Raymond and her husband, Edward (Babe) Raymond; and several stepgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

At her request there will be no services. Donations may be made to St. John’s School, CHANS Hospice, or a charity of choice. Interment will be in the spring, next to her husband at St. John’s Cemetery.
