SCARBOROUGH — Louise Jeannette Callahan, 96, died Jan. 29, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.
She was born April 2, 1917, in Berlin, N.H., to William E. and Mamie King Lemerise, and graduated from Berlin High School.
After moving to South Portland, she worked for Paul Revere Life Insurance Company until her retirement in 1982. She also worked for the South Portland Housing Authority and was a member of the Holy Cross Church choir for many years.
She is survived by her son, William J.; sister, Jeanne Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Holy Cross Church, South Portland. Arrangements are by Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland.
