SOUTH PORTLAND — Lorraine R. McGrath, 88, died Friday, Dec. 10.

On Nov. 12, 1922, she was born in Salem, Mass., and grew up in Westbrook.

After getting married to Gordon McGrath, they settled in South Portland.

For many years she worked as a secretary at South Portland High School. In later years, she was employed at Uncle Andy’s Bakery.

Before she lost her eyesight, she loved to knit and to read, and found joy doing the daily crossword puzzle with her son, Marshall.

Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Seaside Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to their mother during her stay there.
