TOPSHAM — Lorraine M. Bisson, 93, died Dec. 19 at her home with her family gathered around her.

She was born in Brunswick August 14, 1920, the daughter of Jean and Corinne Poulin. She attended St. John’s School and was a member of St. John’s Church in Brunswick.

On June 2, 1938, she married Paul M. Bisson. He died July 31, 1991.

Bisson would often tell her children about her childhood and how she and her siblings would walk from Brunswick to Freeport to work at L.L. Bean. Later, she worked side by side with her husband operating the Bisson Farm, where she handled the finances. When they ran L & P Bisson & Son’s Meat Market, she served as the cashier. Eventually, the couple began sell tourtière, which is still made by the family today, as well as other meat pies.

She had a generous nature and never complained. Her passions in life were her husband, Paul, who was the love of her life, and her family. She also loved her flower gardens, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She made two of her daughters’ wedding dresses. Her energy, passion and dedication to her family will be long missed.

Bisson is survived by her 11 children, Louise Bernier, Raymond Bisson and wife Carol, Roger Bisson and wife Carol, Lucille Pelkey and husband Dave, Priscille Pollock and husband Doug, Robert Bisson and wife Paula, Arthur Bisson and wife Diana, Marie Pennell and husband James, Denise Bisson and her partner Rosemarie, Doris Betz and husband Nick, and Andre Bisson and wife Tina; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
