PORTLAND — The Center for Grieving Children has a new program director.

Susan Giambalvo has replaced Linda Kelly, who worked at the center for 20 years.

Kelly recruited and trained volunteers to work with grieving children in the Portland area. She also led the center’s International Training Institute, training people from the United States and other countries to start organizations similar to the center.

Although she has retired, Kelly will continue to work with the center to train volunteers.

Giambalvo previously worked at Youth Alternatives Ingraham and Volunteers of America.
