PORTLAND — The 10th annual Longfellow Elementary School fundraiser auction is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, at the Woodford’s Club, 179 Woodford St.
The event, hosted by the school’s parent-teacher organization, will start with a 5:30 p.m. preview of the items for sale. Live bidding will begin at 6 p.m.
Last year’s auction attracted 250 families and was supported by more than 350 donations. Auction proceeds benefit educational and classroom programs, including art and cultural enrichment.
Proceeds from last year’s event paid for a two-week artist residency program this year as well as author visits, book fairs, museum and theatre visits and cultural field trips.
The theme of this year’s auction is “Eve of the Earth.”
