PORTLAND — Police continue to search for a suspect in connection with Thursday’s armed robbery at the University Credit Union at 1071 Brighton Ave.

Portland Police Lt. James Sweatt said the robbery was reported at 2:47 p.m. after a lone suspect demanded money while displaying a black handgun. The suspect fled on Taft Avenue after receiving and undisclosed amount of cash.

Sweatt said no one was hurt in the robbery. The suspect was described as a slender black man, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing dark clothing, including a black ball cap with white lettering, and may have had dreadlocks tucked into the cap. He was also wearing what may be a fake mustache and sunglasses.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call police at 874-8584 or text anonymous tips to 274637, with the key word “Gotcha” and the tip.
