Falmouth, Freeport, Greely and NYA all represented

Standout runners, jumpers and throwers from Forecaster Country took part in the New England track and field championships Friday in Boston.
Greely’s 4×800 relay team had the best showing. James LePage, Andy Fitch, Logan Price and Mark McCauley came in fourth (8 minute, 6.87 seconds).
Individually, North Yarmouth Academy’s Henry Sterling placed ninth in the mile (4:28.56). Teammate Sam Fear tied for 13th in the high jump (6 feet, 3 inches) and was 23rd in the shot put (43-11.25). Falmouth’s Tom Winger was 12th in the long jump (20-4.25). Teammate Kris Floridino placed 17th in the shot put (47-00.75). Greely’s Peter Colesworthy finished 16th in the 55 hurdles (8.07). Teammate Logan Price was 18th in the two-mile (9:51.77). Falmouth’s Kellen McDonald came in 17th in the 600 (1:26.23). The Yachtsmen’s 4×200 relay team (Winger, Will Wegener, Alec Dunn and McDonald) placed ninth (1:34.32). Falmouth’s 4×800 squad (Mike Serunian, Jamey Epstein, Scott Gardner and Wegener) was 24th (8:43.92).
On the girls’ side, Greely’s Hillary Cederna was fifth in the long jump (16 feet, 10.75 inches). Greely’s Hannah Werneth came in 16th in the shot put (34-10.75). Falmouth’s Jenna Serunian was 17th (34-6.25). Falmouth’s Francesca D’Alfonso finished 21st in the 1,000 (3:17.87). Greely’s Abby Diehl came in 26th in the 55 hurdles (9.26).
Freeport’s 4×800 relay squad (Robin Gleason, Caroline Davis, Adrian Baker and Andrea Goodrich) came in 16th (10:22.99). Falmouth’s 4×800 relay team (Maggie Parrish, Francesca D’Alfonso, Erin Morris and Rachel Brown) was 18th (10:24.81). The Yachtsmen’s 4×200 relay team (Ali McClellan, Brown, Adriana Fox and Adrienne Michalakis) was 21st (1:51.50).
