On Sunday, The Maine Juniors “Silver Bullets” team, led by coach Michelle Forbes, won the 16B championship of the New England Regional Volleyball Association, held at Southern Maine Community College. The competitive girls’ team included high school freshman through juniors from the towns of Biddeford, Cumberland, Gorham, Kennebunk, Scarborough and Yarmouth. After an initial record of 4-2 in their morning pool, the Silver Bullets went on to defeat Lakes Region (N.H.) in the semifinals and Great Bay Stingrays (N.H.) in the finals to clinch the title.
