Four local Masters swimmers, Katrine Alcaide, Dave Bright, Fred Schlicher and David Vail, achieved national top 10 times for the 2015-16 indoor season. Alcaide, of Harpswell, led the way, capturing the number one spot in the 50-yard freestyle, 50 breaststroke and 100 individual medley for women aged 30-34. Schlicher, of Brunswick, was second in the 100 butterfly for men ages 65-69. Schlicher also managed fourth-place rankings in the 200 and 400 medley and was sixth in the 100 backstroke. Bright, who is Brunswick High School’s swim coach, ranked ninth in the 400 medley in the 60-64 men’s age category. Vail, placed 10th in the 200 backstroke.
