Mid-Coast Masters swimmers from left, Mike Hurd, Ben Morse, Fred Pierce, Katrine Alcaide, David Vail and Jessie Alcaide recently joined nearly 700 swimmers for the 2015 New England championships in Massachusetts and each brought home medals for top three finishes. Jessie Alcaide won the 50 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 100 individual medley and Katrine Alcaide won the 50 free, 100 fly, 200 IM, 50 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke. Vail won nine gold medals in the men’s 70-74 division, including all four freestyle races, three backstroke events, the 50 fly and the 100 IM. Morse was second in the 100 and 200 fly and third in the 500 free. Pierce was second in the 50 breaststroke and third in the 200 free. Hurd was third in the 200 breaststroke.
