Local karate students compete in tournament

Tracy’s Karate Ju-Jitsu students from the Yarmouth dojo recently participated in a tournament in Bucksport. Approximately 200 competitors from all over Maine vied for grand championship trophies. These children and adults train with Sensei Kristy Tracy Dawes of Yarmouth. During the awards ceremony preceding the competition, Zack Travers, Sensei Lauren Dawes and Daly O’Sullivan won the Best Attitude awards, Heather Kilcollins, Sensei Cameron Sarchi and Kate Thibodeau won the Most Improved awards, Sensei Jenna Rice, Sensei Justin Dawes and Noah Miller won the Most Dedicated awards, Nate Mick, Kellie Potvin and Lee Thibodeau won the Most Supportive Parents award and Justin Hobart, Sensei Caroline Tracy and Gracyn Mick won the Student of the Year awards.
