Tracy’s Karate-Ju-Jitsu students from the Yarmouth dojo recently participated in the 103rd Karate Tournament and Awards Ceremony in Bucksport. Approximately 250 competitors from all over Maine and Canada vied for grand championship trophies. These children and adults train with Senseis John and Kristy Tracy Dawes of Yarmouth. Sensei Justin Dawes of Yarmouth was promoted to second degree black belt. Sensei Jonathan MacArthur, Malcolm Nelson and Daicey Speirs won the Best Attitude awards, Sensei Justin Dawes, Emmett Shea and Priscilla Stetson won the Most Improved awards, Kerry Stetson, Jeff Adey and Daly O’Sullivan won the Most Dedicated awards, Deb and Dan Hobart, Lauren and Greg Adey and Carla and Kevin O’Sullivan won the Most Supportive Parents awards and Sensei John Dawes, Afton Mick and Piper MacArthur won the Student of the Year awards.
