The Blue Wave U-16 elite boys’ basketball team, featuring Griffin Foley and Terion Moss of Class AA champion Portland, Yarmouth’s Nolan Hagerty, Cheverus’ Tobias Efron and Deering’s Ben Onek, recently placed second at the Division III national championships in Hampton, Virginia. Blue Wave, which also included Oxford Hills’ Matt Fleming, Thornton Academy’s David Keohan and Windham’s Mike Gilman, went 5-3 in the tournament and dropped an overtime heartbreaker to Hoop Dreams (West Virginia), the defending champion, in the title game.
