Local hockey players, the Maine Mariners recently took part in the Oyster Cup hockey tournament in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, playing some of the best young players from the Eastern Maritime provinces. The Mariners consisted of 13 boys selected from both Casco Bay Hockey Association and the Portland Junior Pirates. They competed in the birth year 2002 bracket and participated in four games, finishing 2-1-1.
