YARMOUTH — The third annual community bike ride to support cancer survivors on Livestrong Day will take place Saturday, Oct. 1.

Cyclists should check in at the Log Cabin, 196 Main St., between 9:30 and 10 a.m., and riders of all abilities are welcome. Cyclists will choose a 12- or 23-mile ride and begin at 10 a.m.

There is no registration fee, but riders are encouraged to make donations to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Refreshments will be served following the event and riders are encouraged to wear yellow.

The event is hosted by Maura Halkiotis, Tom Renehan and Deb and John Nelson, and is part of a worldwide effort to raise awareness about the fight against cancer. Register in advance at Yarmouthlivestrongday@gmail.com or call Halkiotis at 841-3327 or Nelson at 846-0955.
