PORTLAND — Lilian “Lou” Cameron (Holmes) Morgan, 89, a resident of Falmouth for nearly 60 years,  died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Manor March 12.

Born Nov. 19, 1920, she was the third daughter of William Holmes and Helen Ryan Holmes in Brighton, Mass.

After graduating from Brighton High School in 1938, she attended the Katherine Gibbs School in Boston.
   
For 52 years she was married to the late Ralph D. Morgan U.S. Navy (Ret.) until his death in 1992.

She worked for the Union Mutual Life Insurance Company of Portland.

She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the United States Navy Fleet Reserve Association.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, John Holmes, William Holmes, Donald Holmes, Helen Holmes Patterson and Marion Holmes Kay, and a great-grandson, Alex Glynn.
   
Surviving are her four children, Ralph D. Morgan and his wife Mary, Virginia A. Lunt and her husband William, and Robert D. Morgan and his wife Vickie, all of Falmouth, and Joan F. Vining and her husband Donald of Gardiner; her sisters, Margaret Holmes Morgan of Alexandria, Va. and Catherine Holmes Reilly of Hull, Mass.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many lifelong friends.
   
Memorial services were held March 15.
