PORTLAND — A Lewiston man was charged with engaging a prostitute Feb. 28 as part of a multi-city, multi-agency investigation into human trafficking.

Police said James C. Begin, 35, was arrested in the city, but they declined to say where because the investigation is continuing. Three men were arrested Feb. 28 in Westbrook.

Police from the city, South Portland, Westbrook and Scarborough, as well as the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and federal agents, took part in the investigation as part of the Greater Portland Coalition Against Sex Trafficking and Exploitation.
