I am writing in support of Dick Woodbury as an independent for the Maine State Senate representing Falmouth, Cumberland, Gray, North Yarmouth, and Yarmouth.

As an independent, Dick is not beholden to special-interest groups or to party politics. In fact, he has used his objectivity and ability to negotiate across party lines to benefit the state. In 2004 as a representative, he was selected to chair two legislative committees, including the controversial bipartisan tax committees. In addition to understanding how the legislative process works, he is a highly respected economist who is often sought out for his insight into the most pressing economic issues facing our state. Lastly, I’m supporting Dick Woodbury because he shares my values. The Maine League of Conservation Voters lists him as having an environmentally friendly voting record, while at the same time he’s been recognized as a “strong” supporter of business by the Maine Economic Research Institute and received the Guardian of Small Business Award from the National Federation of Independent Business.

Please join me in supporting Dick Woodbury for the state Senate.
