My name is Jim MacLeod and I am running for Yarmouth Town Council. I am a Maine native, and I believe in the things that make Yarmouth such a special place to live. For my family, it’s the sense of community, the village, and the schools. I think we would all agree that Yarmouth offers us an exceptional quality of life.
However, these are challenging times for municipalities, particularly as austerity measures roll out of Augusta and Washington. The temptation to apply quick-fix cost-cutting measures to current problems is very popular. But difficult problems require careful analysis that takes into account the short-term and long-term effects on Yarmouth and its residents. My professional experience in banking, public financing and as a practicing attorney has equipped me with such a perspective, and the skill set to make a positive contribution to our town. Experience will make a difference.
