I am voting for the Waterfront Protection Ordinance because I believe it is the best choice for the future of South Portland. It will protect our city from tar sands and establish a framework for balanced economic growth along our waterfront.

We have heard claims that the ordinance is anti-business, but the ordinance will only apply to a few companies whose primary business operation is unloading, storing, and handling petroleum products.

The Waterfront Protection Ordinance will prevent tar sands from being pumped to the pier near Bug Light for loading on tanker ships, or piped to the Fore River for export from our commercial waterfront. It deserves your support.
