I’m a father of four kids, and I’ve seen first-hand the benefits of Regional School Unit 5. I’m writing to urge Freeport voters to vote no to breaking up our schools.

My oldest son, who is a junior at Freeport High School, has been academically and athletically challenged in the school system. He’s also made great bonds with students from Durham and Pownal as friends and teammates. The RSU has worked for him, and is working for my three youngest children. Why ruin a school system that is working? A lot of time, money and effort has gone into this.

I am unconvinced that withdrawal will do our children any good, and we will end up paying more as taxpayers while getting less for our students. Let’s not risk it. Please vote no.
