It is past time that the communities of Cumberland and North Yarmouth support a performing arts center.
As parents of student athletes, we appreciate the great support our kids receive in athletics. It is high time that we support our children who excel in art, dance, music and drama. We support excellent sports facilities, such as a turf field, but this is not an either/or question. We must support the education and strength of all students. The PAC would move the district in that direction. It would also provide the opportunity for students to be able to pursue their interests in technology such as stage construction, lighting and sound engineering.
It is time to invest in our future and our children. The Nov. 8 vote is to support the PAC; it is not a vote against a future turf field. Vote yes for the SAD 51 performing arts center.
